Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Flumen Data Analytics ("Flumen", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you visit flumendataanalytics.com, sign up for our service, or use your client dashboards. Flumen is operated by Joseph Velez, doing business as Flumen Data Analytics, Fort Collins, Colorado. We operate in compliance with the Colorado Privacy Act and applicable U.S. data protection regulations.
2. Information We Collect
Account information you provide at signup: your name, business name, email address, phone number, business type, number of locations, and which point-of-sale system you use.
Business transaction data from your point-of-sale system, accessed through a read-only connection you authorize or through sales files you upload: transaction totals, timestamps, payment types, and item-level sales data. We do not access or collect your customers' personal information. We never receive customer names, contact details, or payment card numbers from your POS system.
Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment card details are provided directly to Stripe and are never stored on Flumen's servers. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
Contact form submissions: if you use the contact form on our website, we receive the name, business, email, and message you choose to provide.
Portal login information: a password you set for your client portal, stored in securely hashed form, and session cookies necessary to keep you logged in.
3. How We Use Information
- To build and operate your dashboards and provide the service you signed up for.
- To communicate with you about your account: onboarding instructions, billing notices, trial reminders, and responses to your inquiries.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing. Your business data is used to provide your analytics, and we may use aggregated, anonymized data that does not identify you or your business to improve our services and develop benchmarks.
4. Service Providers
We use a small number of service providers to operate the service, each receiving only what is necessary for their function:
- DigitalOcean: cloud infrastructure hosting our servers and databases. Your business data is stored on encrypted, access-controlled servers on DigitalOcean infrastructure.
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription billing.
- SendGrid (Twilio): transactional email delivery, such as onboarding and billing emails.
- Your point-of-sale provider (Square, Toast, or Clover): we connect to their systems with your authorization to retrieve your sales data.
5. Cookies
The client portal uses session cookies strictly to keep you logged in. Our public website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
6. Data Security
We maintain reasonable technical safeguards including encrypted storage, access controls, firewalls, and regular automated backups. Each client's data is isolated in its own database schema. Our connections to point-of-sale systems are read-only. In the event of a confirmed data breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account information and business data for as long as you have an active subscription. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@flumendataanalytics.com, and we will permanently delete it from our systems within 30 days of your request.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy of it. Colorado residents have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@flumendataanalytics.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Upon request, we will also provide a written summary of the security measures in place to protect your data.
9. Children's Privacy
Our service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on our website, and where appropriate, communicated by email. The effective date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
